BeReal is one of the more interesting social media platforms around at the moment. It restricts the amount of time you spend on your phone scrolling down a feed and encourages people to share their life unfiltered. However, it does have several features that you’ll see on other social media platforms as well.

What causes this error?
The error can be caused by several problems including but not limited to:
- Internet connectivity issues.
- You haven’t posted enough Bereals.
- Corrupt app data or cache
- Outdated app version.

How to fix this?
Here are six fixes that you can try out.
Check your internet
Now’s also a good time to check whether or not you have an active internet connection. If you’re on WiFi, make sure you’ve got an active link and that there are no signal issues. On cellular data, ensure that it’s enabled and that you’re getting good network coverage.
Restarting your router can help get rid of a bunch of seemingly random internet and connectivity issues that may be hindering your connection to BeReal’s servers.
Not enough BeReals
You need to post at least 14 BeReals in a year to be able to see your BeReal recap. If you don’t meet this requirement, you won’t be getting a recap.
Clear cache
Sometimes a corrupt cache or data in the app can also cause such glitches. Here’s how to clear the BeReal app’s cache.
- Head into the phone settings and tap on Apps and notifications.
- Tap on Show all apps and find BeReal from the list. If you’ve recently used BeReal, it’ll show up in the recent apps as well.
- Tap on BeReal.
- Then tap on Storage & cache.
- Then tap on the Clear Cache button.
Now reopen the app and try opening the recap. It should work just fine.

Log out and log in again
Sometimes simply logging out and logging back in again can also help fix the problem.
- Open the app and tap on your profile picture in the top right.
- Tap the three vertical dots in the top right.
- Scroll down and tap Log out.
Now restart the app and log in again to see if that fixes the problem.
Update the app
Another reason for your profile picture not updating could simply be because of an outdated app version. Update the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store depending on your device to see if that helps.
Reinstall the app
If updating didn’t help, delete the app from your phone and head over to your respective app store to download it again. Reinstalling often clears out any corrupt app files that may be hampering functionality and helps fix bugs like this.
Contact BeReal support
If nothing else works, try contacting BeReal support about the issue.
- Open the app and tap on your profile picture in the top right.
- Tap the three vertical dots in the top right.
- Scroll down and tap Contact us.
