There are a lot of free-to-play games you can play on just about any platform, but only a few of them are as good as Destiny 2. However, as much effort as Bungie has put into the development of the game, it’s still far from perfect and runs into bugs and issues from time to time.
In this article, we’re talking about Bungie error code Plum, its causes and what you can do to fix the problem.

What causes the Bungie error code Plum?
The Bungie error code Plum is usually caused when BattlEye detects an issue on your system that breaches Bungie’s terms and conditions or in other words, programs that interfere with the game. Other common causes include:
- Use of VPN
- Overly aggressive antivirus programs
- Internet connectivity issues
- Firewall blockage
How to fix the Bungie error code Plum?
Here are six fixes you can try out.
Restart your router
Restarting your router can help eliminate any unseen network or connectivity issues you may face. You have to turn off your router, wait a bit, and then turn it back on again.
Restart your game
One of the easiest ways to fix the problem is to restart the game. Restarting games and programs often resolves temporary bugs that can cause crashes or connectivity issues. Once the game is stopped completely (you can verify this using the Task Manager), relaunch it using Steam, and it should work just fine.
Disable VPN
If you’re using a VPN while gaming, some games can experience issues due to geo-restricted content policies. Disable it and try rerunning the game if you’re on a VPN. It should work just fine. The same goes for any firewalls you might have as well.
Updating the graphics driver
Updating your GPU drivers or even reinstalling them can also help resolve such errors.
Step 1: Right-click Start and select Device Manager from the menu.
Step 2: Under Display Adaptors, find your graphics card’s name, right-click it, and click on Update Drivers.
Step 3: Click on Search automatically for drivers. Windows will automatically look for and download the latest drivers for your particular GPU.
While this should help resolve the error, if it doesn’t, click Uninstall device in step two and restart your PC to force Windows to install the required drivers. You can then update them later.
Change NAT type
If your router has a NAT type 3, otherwise called strict, you will run into problems with a game, as strict NAT types often block internet traffic to non-essential programs. If you have admin access to your network, try changing the NAT type to see if that resolves your error.

Verify Game Files
Corrupted game files can often lead to issues like this, not just in Destiny 2 but other games. Luckily, Steam has a built-in feature that verifies your game files and reinstalls any files that might be damaged. Follow these steps.
Step 1: Head over to your Steam Library, right-click on Destiny 2and select Properties.
Step 2: Head over to the Local Files tab.
Step 3: Click on Verify integrity of local files… and let Steam do its thing. The issue should be fixed.
This should get the game back up and running again.
