How to change the background on the Zoom app for Android and iOS?
Launch Zoom application on your smartphone and sign in to your account. Follow the steps given below to change the background.
- Tap on More; the three dots on the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Then tap on Virtual Background.
- Select the background from the list of default options or upload your own by tapping on the Plus + sign.
- Then tap on the Close option at the bottom right of the screen.

How to change the background on the Zoom desktop app?
Launch Zoom application on your desktop and sign in to your account. Follow the steps given below to change the background.
Before joining the meeting
Step 1: Click on your profile photo located on the top-right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can click on the settings icon, located below your profile picture, to directly open the settings menu.
Step 2: Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: From the left menu bar, select Background & Filters.
Step 4: Under Virtual Backgrounds, select the background from the default options, or you can add your own by clicking on the Plus + sign on the right-hand side.
In case, you see the default background options disabled, and it says “Your device Requires a Green Screen To Support Virtual Backgrounds” when you hover over the options, then you require the same for changing background. To do so, check “I Have A Green Screen” box, and the default options will be enabled.
After joining the meeting
Step 1: Click on the small arrow located beside the Stop Video option on the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Select Choose Virtual Background.
Step 3: Under Virtual Backgrounds, select the background from the default options, or you can add your own by clicking on the + sign on the right-hand side.
In case, you see the default background options disabled, and it says “Your device Requires a Green Screen To Support Virtual Backgrounds” when you hover over the options, then you require the same for changing background.
