How to share screen on Zoom?

The need for video conferencing has risen in the past few months as the majority of workforces are working remotely nowadays. In this regard, Zoom meetings have particularly gained popularity as working professionals, students, teachers use this application to connect online.

You can show your work, such as a presentation or lecture slides by sharing your screen with your participants. If you’re new to Zoom and are having trouble using Zoom, in this article, we will guide you how to share screen on Zoom meetings, whether you’re attending or hosting it via a smartphone or laptop.

You can share screen on Zoom application from its homepage directly after you’ve signed in to your account.  You can even start sharing screen after you’ve joined a zoom meeting.

How to share screen on Zoom app for android or iOS?

Follow the steps below to share screen on Zoom app via your smartphone.

How to share screen from the homepage?

Open the Zoom app and follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Select Share Screen, located under Meet & Chat, on the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Enter Meeting ID or Sharing Key to share to a Zoom room. You can get this from the host of the meeting. Then tap OK.
  • Then enter the Meeting Passcode. Then tap Continue.
  • You will see a “Not Sharing Screen Yet” message on your screen until the next page loads.
  • Tap on Start Broadcast.
  • Zoom will start broadcasting your phone’s screen in the meeting. You will see a red colour band on the top, which indicates screen sharing is in progress. Tap on Stop Broadcast to end the process.

Please note, you cannot share screen unless the host of the meeting has enabled the action for participants, to enable the screen share action tap on More located at the bottom-right of the screen and then tap Meeting Settings. Under Allow Participants, you’ll find Share Screen option, toggle it to the right to enable the action for the participants.

How to share screen after you’ve entered a zoom meeting

Open the Zoom app and follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Tap on Share Content.
  • Choose what you want to share from the list of options. Tap on Screen if you want to share your screen.
  • Tap on Start Broadcast.
  • Zoom will start broadcasting your phone’s screen in the meeting. You will see a red colour band on the top, which indicates screen sharing is in progress. Tap on Stop Broadcast to end the process.

How to share screen on Zoom app for PC?

To share screen on the Zoom app on your desktop, follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Click on Share Screen option on the homepage.

Step 2: Enter Sharing Key or Meeting ID and then click on Share Screen.

Step 3: Select what you want to share from the list of options. Then click on Share.

Step 4: Your desktop will start showing a green band around the screen with a small bar at the top with “You Are Screen Sharing” message. Click on Stop Share to end the process.

How to share screen after you’ve entered a Zoom meeting?

Step 3: Your desktop will start showing a green band around the screen with a small bar at the top with “You Are Screen Sharing” message. Click on Stop Share to end the process.
