Changing your YouTube profile picture on PC
Regardless of whether you’re on a phone or PC, the process is quite straightforward. Follow the steps mentioned below to change your Youtube profile picture via its website on a PC.
Step 1: Head over to your channel’s page over on YouTube and click on your profile picture.
Step 2: You’ll be redirected to the Channel Customisation section of YouTube Studio. Here you’ll see two options; one to change your profile picture and the other will remove it altogether. Click on Change.
Step 3: Go ahead and select the image you want to set as the new profile picture for your channel. However, there are some restrictions on what images you can use. Also, make sure your image adheres to the YouTube Community Guidelines.
It’s recommended to use a picture that’s at least 98 x 98 pixels and 4MB or less. You should also try and use a PNG or a GIF(no animations) file although you can get away with using a JPEG too.

Changing YouTube profile picture from the YouTube app
If you’re on the Youtube app for Android or iOS, here’s what you need to do to change your profile picture.
- Tap on your current profile picture at the top-right corner.
- Tap on Your Channel.
- Tap on the Edit Channel button.
- Tap on your existing profile picture and the app will ask whether you want to Take a photo or Choose from your photos. Either click a picture or select one from your media gallery and your Youtube profile picture will be updated.
