How to change the language in Tor browser?

Tor is one of the most popular browsers out there for private browsing. Not only does it hide your IP address when browsing the internet, but it also is one of the only choices you have if you want to browse the dark web. 

However, with a use case so wide, the browser is used worldwide, which means it needs to have language support for different locales around the world. Luckily for you, the browser does support multiple languages, which can be switched between in minutes.

Change Tor Browser language on PC 

If you’re using Tor on your PC, follow these steps to change the language.

Step 1: Open the browser and click on the hamburger menu icon in the top-right, followed by Options.

Step 2: Scroll down to Languages and appearance, expand the Langauge drop-down and click on Search for more languages…

Step 3: Select the language you want to add from the Select a language to add… drop-down.

Change Tor Browser language on Android/iOS

If you’re using Tor on your phone, it defaults to your phone’s language. However, should you want to change that, follow these steps.

  • Tap Settings.
