How to check your Valorant elo?

Riot Games’ recently released shooter title, Valorant, is taking the world by storm. The game is only in its second season and has already amassed a huge player base and continues to grow.

Valorant, much like most of its rivals, offers a competitive game mode for serious players to test out their skills against each other. The game also features ranks that help determine what is a player’s skill level.

These ranks are based on a hidden system that puts a number on each player’s skill. The greater this number, the higher this rank. The number which is generally called Elo is hidden and there’s no way to check where you stand.

However, in a Github thread, a user named RumbleMike has made a small software that can reveal your Valorant Elo and rank points. In this article, we will talk about this tool and how you can use it to your advantage.

Checking your Valorant Elo

First up, we need to get the tool up and running. Here’s how you can install the tool and check your Valorant elo in six simple steps.

Step 1: Head over to Github and download the latest version of Valor Stream Overlay.

Step 3: Once extracted, head over to the extracted directory and run the file named ValorantStreamOverlay.exe.

Note that the application may ask you to download and  install .NET core. Make sure that you download the x86 version regardless of your OS architecture.

Step 4: Once the app opens, you’ll see that it reads invalid and your RP and Elo are shown as zeroes. This is because we still need to login to our Valorant account in the tool.

To do so, right-click anywhere in the tool and click on Settings.

Step 5: In the Settings menu, type in your username and password, make sure the Region is set to what your in-game region is and set a Refresh value for the app. You can also change the skin of the app using the Skin dropdown.

Click Apply when you’re done. The overlay will automatically close as it needs to restart.

Step 6: Once the app restarts, it’ll show you your rank, your rank points, your Valorant Elo and your rank point changes over the last three games you’ve played.

Here’s a rundown of everything shown in the overlay.

  • Rank: Your current matchmaking rank (labelled as ‘1’ in the image)
  • Rank Points/ELO: These are your current rank points and Elo. You get a new rank each 100 rank points you gain. Your Elo is a collective sum of all your Rank points so far (labelled as ‘2’ in the image).
  • RP changes: These are your rank point changes across the last three matches you’ve played (labelled as ‘3’ in the image).

Note that the Valorant elo shown here is not an official number from Riot. This is merely the developer’s calculation of what your elo approximately would be, so take it with a pinch of salt — your real Valorant elo and rank could be slightly higher or lower that what’s being shown.
