LinkedIn was quick to create its niche in the highly competitive market of social networks by providing an easy to use platform for working professionals. Not only individuals but companies can also create profiles or pages on LinkedIn to interact with potential clients, investors, a niche audience or prospective employees.

If you’ve got a start-up, a small or a large business, creating a page on LinkedIn will give your company some extra visibility and here is a guide to help you create your business page on LinkedIn.

The following guide can not only be used to create pages for corporate businesses, but also organisations and institutions such as schools, colleges and NGOs.

How to create a page on LinkedIn?

Step 1: Log into your profile on the LinkedIn website. Then click on the Work icon at the top-right corner of the homepage. From the dropdown menu, select the last option, Create a Company Page. Step 2: On the next page, choose whether you want to make a page for Small business, Medium to Large business, a Showcase page (a sub-page that’s associated with an existing page) or a page for an Educational institution (school, college or university). If you’re a business owner, select one of the first two options.

Step 3: On the next page, fill the name of your company, the page URL you’d want (prefixed by LinkedIn’s URL), your website’s URL, industry, company size, company type, tagline and upload a logo for the page.

Then click on the box beside I verify that I am an authorized representative of this organisation and have the right to act on its behalf in the creation and management of this page. The organisation and I agree to the additional terms for Pages.

Now click on the Create page button. Your LinkedIn page will be created. You can now add or edit information on the page and share it through your other social channels as well as link it to your website. You’ll now also be able to add the page in your work experience if you like.
