If you’re looking to shop without spending a lot, Dollar Tree stores are probably your best bet. The company operates discount variety stores that offer everything at a fixed price of one dollar in both the United States and Canada. Dollar Tree itself is headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia and operates 15,115 stores throughout the two countries.
However, when it comes to payment, a lot of users have been moving to more convenient payment methods involving digital wallets like Apple Pay. In this article, we’re talking about whether or not Dollar Tree takes Apple Pay.

Dollar Tree and Apple Pay
Most if not all Dollar Tree outlets have been equipped with contactless payment registers since 2020 bringing them neck to neck with other shopping outlets.
You can use Apple Pay to pay at Dollar Tree outlets.
The company announced this move back in April 2020 for a touch-free shopping experience but since then has continued using the payment option for the benefit of the customers. However, you might come across several Dollar Tree outlets where Apple Pay might not be supported or the management might refuse to take Apple Pay. This comes down to staff training and the availability of working Point-of-Sale (POS) units.
If you’re ordering online though, the store doesn’t accept digital wallets, including Apple Pay. For those payments, you’ll have to resort to traditional digital payments such as credit or debit cards.
There are certain advantages to using Apple Pay or similar digital wallets as compared to traditional payment methods. It’s fast, convenient and doesn’t include any hidden fees that might rack up your bills before you realise it. However, limited availability or issues with the Apple Pay app can leave you in a rut, so it’s best to have a backup payment method available.
What other payment methods does Dollar Tree accept?
Other than Apple Pay, you can use just about any traditional or digital payment method at all Dollar Tree outlets including:
- Cash
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Prepaid cards (subject to availability)
- Gift cards (subject to availability)
- Google Pay and other supported digital wallets.
