Safeguarding personally identifiable information, including financial credentials, are of paramount importance in the world of internet as access to such information has become easier. While passwords are the key to gaining access to personal accounts, breaking them has become increasingly easier with time, which saw an industrywide shift as developers added another layer of security — 2FA or two-factor authentication — to their apps to offer users additional security online.

An extra layer of security often goes a long way in easing tensions. Two-factor authentication or 2FA is one such optional security measure which when put in place can protect your data against unsolicited login attempts from unknown devices.

Microtransactions are a significant part of the Fortnite experience with V-bucks providing access to the battle pass, skins and other accessories, which help personalise the playing experience. Activating 2FA for Fortnite will enable this optional feature for all services that make use of your Epic Games account. This process applies to PC, Xbox, PS4, Switch and Mobile.
