Javascript is a widely used scripting programming language, which makes the webpage more responsive and interactive so that you can have a better end experience. For example, Javascript can help you check username availability or can autocomplete the sentences.

Other functions that Javascript performs is to fix the layouts of the webpage or facilitate the lazy loading of the web page, in case the network connection is poor. Moreover, it can also help to flash any instant information such as a piece of breaking news or stock market updates.

In this article, we will explain how you can enable or disable the Javascript in Firefox.

How to enable or disable Javascript in Firefox?

In case, you want to enable or disable Javascript in Firefox, follow the instructions given below. The steps would work on Firefox browser apps for Android and iOS too.

Step 1: Type about:config in the address bar. (Take a look at the screenshot above to get an idea). You will receive a warning: Proceed with Caution as Changing advanced configuration preferences can impact Firefox performance and security. Just click on Accept the Risk and Continue. (In case, you do not want to receive the warning in the future, you can opt-out of the notification by removing the tick mark beside Warn me when I attempt to access these preferences).

Step 2: Once you have entered the configuration zone, enter java.enabled in the search box.

Step 3: By default, the option is set to true, meaning the Javascript is enabled. To disable it, double-click on the option and it will become false (As shown in the screenshot below).
