What causes this error?
This is a generic error code often stemming from server issues with either Epic Games or the game itself. Some popular causes include:
- Corrupt/missing game files.
- Internet issues.
- DNS cache is corrupted.
- Fall Guys servers are down.
How to fix this?
Here are six fixes you can try out.
Check your internet connection
The Epic Games launcher requires an active internet connection to work. If you have an unstable internet connection, chances are you’re going to miss out on notifications. Suppose you’re on WiFi check to see if you’ve got internet access and strong signals. If you’re on mobile data, check to see if data is enabled and that you’ve got good network coverage.
Restart your router
Power cycling your network equipment is the fix to more issues than you can think. More often than not, connectivity issues can be caused by an underlying bug in your router and can be fixed by rebooting.
Verify game files
Depending on whether you’re playing the game on Epic Games or Steam, the process for verifying the game file integrity is slightly different. Regardless, ensuring all the game files are present and in working order is essential to avoiding crashes.
On Epic Games
If you’re using Epic Games, follow these steps to verify game file integrity.
Step 1: Open the Epic Games launcher and head to your library. Click the three horizontal dots next to the game’s name. Alternatively, you can just right-click the game tile. Click Manage.
Step 2: In the window that appears, click the Verify button to start a file integrity check.
Epic Games will now automatically download and replace any missing or corrupt game files. Relaunch the game once the check is done, and it should work just fine.
On Steam
If you’re using Steam, follow these steps to verify game file integrity.
Step 1: Head over to your Steam Library, right-click on Fall Guys and select Properties.
Step 2: Head over to the Local Files tab.
Step 3: Click on Verify integrity of local files… and let Steam do its thing.
Try running or downloading your game again to see if that fixed the error.
Use command prompt to flush DNS
Incorrect DNS settings can cause a number of different connection issues that can in turn cause games and programs to not work as expected. Here’s what you can do.
Step 1: Press Windows key + R and type in cmd, and hit enter.
Step 2: Type in ipconfig /flushdns to reset DNS settings to default.
If the above command doesn’t help, try entering these commands in the Command Prompt one at a time.
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
If you suspect an issue with your router’s DHCP assignment, use these commands to release your old IP and request a new one.
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
If this doesn’t work, use the following commands to reset your network stack.
ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
Try another DNS
There are multiple free DNS providers using whom you can fix this issue. In this example, we’re going to use Google’s DNS.
Step 1: Press Windows key + I to open the Windows settings and click on Network & Internet.
Step 2: Click on Change adaptor options.
Step 3: Right-click on your active network (WiFi or LAN) and click Properties.
Step 4: Find Internet Protocol Version 4 in the list, click on it and then click Properties.
Step 5: Check the Use the following DNS server addresses radio button and type in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the preferred and alternative DNS addresses, respectively.
This should resolve any errors you’re facing.
