Set up the Locked folder in Google Photos
To access the Locked folder feature in Google Photos, you must set it up first. To set up the locked folder, follow the steps below.
- Open the Google Photos on your phone and tap on the Library tab.
- In the library, tap on the Utilities.
- Now, tap on Get Started in the Set up Locked Folder box.
- Follow the on-screen institutions.
If your device doesn’t have a screen lock already, you’ll have to create one to use the Locked Folder. Your Locked Folder password will match the one you set for your device’s screen lock; you can’t choose a separate password for the Locked Folder.

How to access the Locked Folder in Google Photos?
If you have already set up the locked folder, then to access the locked folder in Google Photos, follow the steps below.
- Open the Google Photos on your phone and tap on the Library tab.
- In the library, tap on the Utilities.
- Scroll down and tap on the Locked Folder option.
- It will ask you to enter the pin or biometrics, whatever you have used for the screen lock.
