Current booking scenario
Presently, online booking for Sainik rest houses is not uniformly available. You’ll need to check with the specific rest house you’d like to stay in to see if they offer online reservations.
Online booking a Sainik Guest House (also known as Sainik Rest House) is available exclusively for the Central Sainik Rest House at CB Block, Ring Road, Naraina-110028.
However, bookings can be made via phone if the remaining 335 Sainik Guest Houses or Sainik Rest Houses accept reservations. In some cases, individuals may need to physically visit the guest house to check availability and make an on-site booking.

How to book Sainik rest house?
Unlike commercial hotels, SRHs are managed by Zila Sainik Boards (ZSBs) or Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs). Each rest house has its own contact information, which might not be available online. Here’s how to find contact details:
- Fouji Adda: This website provides a comprehensive list of SRHs throughout India. While online booking isn’t available here, you can find phone numbers and email addresses for many rest houses.
- Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW): The DESW website has a page listing SRHs, though contact information might not be included for all locations.
Once you have the contact details, contact the ZSB or RSB that manages your desired SRH. Booking procedures may vary slightly but generally involve:
- Confirmation of eligibility: Be prepared to provide details that confirm your eligibility, such as your ex-serviceman ID card number or service details (if applicable).
- Sharing travel dates: Inform them of your arrival and departure dates to check availability.
- Booking confirmation:Â You might receive a booking reference number or confirmation email upon confirmation.
Additional tips
- Eligibility: Remember, Sainik Rest Houses prioritise serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. Be prepared to provide relevant identification during the booking process.
- Booking window: Booking timelines can vary. Some states allow reservations well in advance, while others might limit it to a few days before arrival.
While a centralised online booking system for Sainik Rest Houses doesn’t exist, some states offer online options. If online booking isn’t available, phone or email remain reliable methods to secure your stay.
