Screenshots are an easy way to keep a copy of what you see on the screen locally on your machine. These can especially prove helpful when diagnosing issues or just referring to something. However, Chromebook’s typically don’t come with a lot of storage space and months or years of screenshot repository could fill the limited storage quite quickly.
While deleting screenshots is relatively straightforward on Chromebooks, new users can get confused as some of the folders on the file manager on Chromebook — Recent, Audio, Images and Videos — only show read-only files, which means you can’t delete them from there.
In such cases, all you need to do is find the original file’s location and delete it from there. You’ll usually find the original files in the Play Files folder or Downloads. Screenshots are typically saved in the Downloads folder on Chromebooks, and that’s where you need to look to delete them.
Here we’ve discussed the following three topics that’ll guide you on deleting screenshots on Chromebook.
- Delete screenshots on Chromebook using keyboard shortcut
- Delete a single screenshot on Chromebook
