Minecraft elevators

Many people prefer building their bases at an elevation, which means that sometimes getting back can be quite the climb. Having an elevator to the top is a rather convenient thing, whether you’re just getting back to your base or visiting a frequent spot.

Regardless, here’s what you need to make an elevator.

  • Glass blocks (for creating the elevator shaft)
  • Bucket of water
  • Soul Sand or Magma (Soul sand makes the elevator go up, and Magma makes it go down)
  • Kelp
  • Signs (for making an entrance)

Once you have everything you need ready to go, follow these steps to build your own bubble elevator.

Step 1: First, create an elevator shaft going as high as you’d like. Make sure to leave one block’s space empty in the middle.

Step 3: Now jump down the elevator shaft and place kelp on top of each other until you reach the top.

Step 4: Jump down again, except this time we’re removing the kelp and replacing the bottom block of the elevator shaft with either Soul Sand if you want the elevator to go up or Magma if you want it to go down.

Step 5: Lastly, place two glass blocks adjacent to the shaft and replace the bottom two shaft blocks with signs to make an entrance.
