Safe Search is a feature that filters out explicit or adult content from the search results. While it is a useful tool for parents and guardians, some users might find this feature limiting. To further broaden the search results, you might need to turn off the safe search feature on your browser.

When Safe Search is turned on, Google uses its algorithms to analyse and filter out the web page, URLs and keywords that it deems to be harmful. Other search engines use similar techniques for their respective safe searches.

How to turn off the Safe Search on Google and Bing on a computer?

Turning off the safe search feature is easy and requires a few clicks. We have given steps to turn off safe search in a few browsers like Google, Edge, Brave and Mozilla Firefox.

Turn off Google Safe Search

Just head to the Safe Search settings on Google and then turn off the toggle. This is the direct and easiest method.

Here’s another method to do the same:

Step 1: Go to Google’s home page and then click on the Settings option at the bottom right. After that click on Search settings.

Step 2: Next, deselect the Turn on SafeSearch box.

Step 3: Head to the bottom of the page and click on Save to confirm the settings.

Turn off Safe Search on Bing

Here are the steps to turn off Safe Search in Bing:

Step 1: Head to Bing’s homepage and then click on the hamburger menu at the top right of the screen.

Step 2: Next, click on the SafeSearch option.

Step 3: Select Off to completely turn off the SafeSearch and then click on Save to finalise the process.

How to turn off the Safe Search on Google and Bing on your phone?

If you are using your mobile phone, we have provided steps by which you can turn off Safe Search easily:

Turn off Google Safe Search

The steps are a bit different on mobile. Follow the steps given below to turn off Safe Search:

  • Open Google app and then tap on your name icon at the top right of the screen.
  • Tap on Settings.
  • Next, go to SafeSearch and turn off the toggle.

Turn off Bing Safe Search

To turn off the Bing Safe Search follow the instructions given below:

  • Open the Bing app and then tap the human icon at the top left of the screen.
  • Next, tap on the Settings option and go to Search.
  • Select SafeSearch and then tap on Off.

Thus, by following the above steps, you will turn off the Google and Bing Safe Search and browse freely.
