Enable dark mode from the quick settings menu
The easiest way to enable the dark mode is through the quick settings. The recent update has changed the location of dark mode settings. Here are the steps to enable dark mode through quick settings:
Step 1: Click on the Time on the Chromebook shelf at the bottom right corner of the screen, and then in the quick settings, click on the Arrowhead beside the Night light icon.
Step 2: It will open the quick display settings; click on the Dark theme icon to enable it. To switch back to light mode, follow the same steps and click on the icon to disable it.

Another way to enable dark mode
There is another way to enable the dark mode on Chromebook. The option to enable the dark mode is available in the Wallpaper settings, so if you are changing the wallpaper, you can also enable and disable the dark mode from that page. To know how to do it, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Right-click on your desktop.
Step 2: Click on the menu’s Set Wallpaper & Style option. An alternate way to access wallpaper settings is by going to Settings > Personalization > Set your wallpaper & style.
Step 2: At the bottom of the Wallpaper section, you will see the Light, Dark and Auto options. Tap on the Dark option to enable the dark mode. To automatically change between the light and dark modes with a timed schedule, click on Auto, which will change the modes according to the time.
