Remnant 2 is a post-apocalypse third-person shooter video game where you test your mettle against deadly creatures called Root. As a sequel to the widely acclaimed Ramnent: From the Ashes, the game carries on the legacy of its predecessor.

But is Remnant 2 cross-platform? Many gamers have asked this question on internet forums. In this article, we’ll provide an answer to this question. But first, let us understand what is the cross-platform feature that gamers often talk about.

What is cross-platform in gaming?

In layman’s terms, a cross-platform compatible game can be accessed on various platforms simultaneously. For example, if you are on PlayStation and your friend is on an Xbox, both can play in the same multiplayer lobby.

In a game that doesn’t support cross-platform features, players on different platforms can only play in multiplayer format with other players having the same gadget. For example, Xbox players can team up with other Xbox players and PlayStation players with other PlayStation players and so on.

This is the basic explanation of cross-platform gaming. Now, let us understand if Remnant 2 supports this feature or not.

Unfortunately, the answer is no, Remnant 2 does not support cross-platform play between different consoles.

This means you cannot play with your friends if they have a different gaming console. Also, all your progress and items will be located on the current gaming console and you cannot access it by logging on to another device.

If you switch to another device, you will start from zero and all your previous progress will be lost.

However, the internet is rife with rumours that the game developers are planning to bring cross-platform gameplay in Remnant 2. David Adams, Game Director on Remnant 2 went on Reddit and said this when asked about the cross-platform feature:

“Yes, we are looking at it. There are issues with the different platforms and what they require in order to allow crossplay, but it is being actively worked on.”

But as of now, there is no official timeline or release date yet. But gamers are hopeful that they will see the feature soon.
