New MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Mini announced with the new M4 chip

The MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and iMac received upgrades featuring the more powerful M4 chip lineup, increased RAM, and some design updates. The upgraded M4 chip offers up to a 10-core CPU, while the highest-performing M4 Max features an up to 16-core CPU built for Apple Intelligence.

Apple’s week of Mac announcements includes a new MacBook Pro with three M4 processor options: the standard M4, M4 Pro, and the highest-performance M4 Max chip. The company also announced a new and smaller Mac Mini with an upgraded M4 processor and 16 GB of RAM. The new iMac also features the M4 chip alongwith a base RAM of 16GB.

More powerful MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro, available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, has an optional nano-texture display intended to reduce glare. The base model has 16GB RAM and is available in space black and silver. It is powered by the M4 processor lineup, which can run large language models and large projects “smoothly and on device”.

The device has three Thunderbolt 4 ports in the standard M4 version, while it comes with Thunderbolt 5 on the M4 Pro and Max versions. The 14-inch MacBook Pro, available from 8 November, starts at $1,599, and the 16-inch model is priced at $2,499. The full hardware specifications of the MacBook Pro are as follows:

Stronger and smaller Mac Mini

The new M4-powered Mac Mini is just five inches long and wide. It has multiple ports, including two USB Type-C ports, an audio jack in the front, an ethernet, three Thunderbolt ports on the back, and an HDMI port. It comes with the standard M4 and M4 Pro processors.

It will be available starting 8 November for $599 for the standard M4 version, while the more powerful M4 Pro version is priced at $1,399. The full hardware specifications of the Mac Mini are:

New M4-powered iMac with fresh colours

The new iMac is available in new colours, including shades of green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. It has a 24-inch display with an optional nano-texture display that reduces reflections and glare. The base model, which has 16 GB of RAM and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, starts at $1,299. The higher-end model, with four Thunderbolt 4 ports, costs $1,499.

Both versions of the new iMac featuring the standard M4 chip are available from 8 November onwards. The full specifications of the iMac are provided below:

Alongside the new M4 chip lineup, Apple increased the base RAM amount for the M2 and M3-equipped MacBook Air from 8GB to 16GB. The company also brought USB Type-C to its accessories, including the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse. While most of the devices announced in Apple’s Mac week will be available from November onwards, they are currently available for pre-order.
