Uplay is a Ubisoft’s gaming interface, which allows you to purchase games, check out your achievements and engage with communities among other things. In addition to Windows and Mac, the interface runs on various PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles.
If you are having trouble in running Uplay overlay in-game then here is how you can access it and fix the issue in a few simple steps.
Before we move on to the Uplay overlay fix, however, first let’s just ensure that you’ve got the shortcut keys right to launch the Uplay overlay. Open a game and press Shift+F2 keys and then the overlay will appear on the left side of the screen.
Using the Uplay overlay, you can add friends, groups and chat with them and you can see their achievements and rewards from the game and also the challenges available in the game.
If using the correct shortcut key for launching the Uplay overlay doesn’t work for you, it’s possible the issue is being caused by Steam overlay on your PC. Uplay overlay fix: Disable Steam overlay
To disable the Steam overlay launch the Steam on your PC and follow the steps below.
Step 1: Click on the Steam icon on the top left corner of the screen and then in the drop down menu click the Settings option.
Step 2: On the next screen, with In-Game option selected, under The Steam Overlay click on the checkbox beside the Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game so that box is empty and no tick mark appears (as shown in the screenshot below).
How to change the hotkey for screenshot capture in Uplay overlay?
To change the hotkey, click on the Settings option on the left side of the screen and then in the settings menu scroll down to the bottom of the box then click on the Capture screenshot hotkey box and change it to any key of your choice,
Below screenshot hotkey box, there are two more options. If you want to save a copy of your screenshots then click on the first checkbox and if you want to the Uplay to take a screenshot automatically when an achievement is unlocked then click on the second checkbox.
