Outriders finally arrived in April this year, and just like most newly-released multiplayer games, the servers are struggling to keep up with the player count.

Apart from the apparent reason (the servers being overloaded), several problems could also happen on your end. First up, check whether or not you’ve got an active and stable internet connection. Random game bugs, corrupt cache or game files can also cause this problem.

In this article, we’re going over a few fixes for Outriders internet connection issues.

Restart your router

One of the first things you should do when dealing with errors revolving around internet connectivity is to restart your router or any networking equipment that you may be using. This can help fix the seemingly random issues and stability problems with your internet connection that may be causing the issue.

Check Square Enix Server status

Before diving into other solutions, you should also check whether or not it’s a server issue by visiting the official Square Enix server status website. If the servers are down, all you can do is wait for the servers to get back online.

Restart your PC/Console

Another thing that works magically in such situations is restarting your PC or console. Restarting can help freshen things up and remove any corrupt files from memory that may be causing a glitch with the game. Restarting also refreshes your network drivers and establishes a fresh connection resolving any internet-related problem from your PC’s or console’s end as well.

Use a wired connection

Although WiFi may be convenient, when it comes to gaming, a wired connection will give you the best possible performance by far. Besides, there are no interference or stability issues in a wired connection and keeping your in-game ping as low as possible. This should fix the Outriders internet connection error.

Check your NAT type

Another thing you should make sure of is whether or not your NAT type allows the game to connect to the internet and communicate with the servers.

Alternatively, you can also consult a Reddit thread by Square Enix of known issues and their solutions on the Outriders subreddit. You should find a fix to any other Outrider issue, including the Outriders internet connection error, over there.
