During its WWDC event in June, Apple launched macOS Monterey, and Facetime and Safari saw many improvements. These improvements came in the form of share play for Facetime and a redesigned Safari browser with features like tab groups.
Although the new operating system offers several improvements, users can’t experience the best that Apple provides as the OS is in its testing phase. That said, users can download a beta build of the operating system to experience the new features at the cost of running into some bugs while running their system.

Installing Safari technology preview on macOS Big Sur
As mentioned earlier, Safari technology preview is a developer tool, and it too can offer some glitches while you browse the Internet. After using the preview ourselves for several days, we saw some issues with video content playback, and Netflix did not run on the same. That said, features like tab groups work flawlessly, and the new address bar looks clean.
To install Safari technology preview on your system, you can follow the steps given below.
Step 1: Head to the Safari technology preview download website and click on the Safari Technology Preview for macOS Big Sur download link to install the development software on your system.
Step 2: Begin the installation process by double-clicking on the SafariTechnologyPreview.dmg file.
Step 3: Double click on the Safari Technology Preview.pkg.
Step 4: As soon as you click on the package file, the installer will open on your system. Click on Continue to start the installation process.
Step 5: After this, click on Continue after reading the terms and conditions displayed on your screen.
Step 6: Click on Agree on the pop-up window, which shows up on your screen.
Step 7: Click on Install to start the installation process. To change the location of where the files are installed, you can click on Change Install Location and select the location of choice.
Step 8: Next up, enter the password for your system. Doing this will finish the installation process, and now you can experience new Safari features on your Mac.

What can you do with the new browser?
Now that you have installed the browser on your system and experienced the new redesigned browser, it’s time to look at the features it offers.
The redesigned Safari browser offers feauture link sharing features and quick note, but with this developer tool users can access only the tab grouping feature.
The tab group feature lets users categorise the various tabs open on their system. This helps users in tab management, and the best part is that all your grouped tabs sync across all your devices running the new Safari browser. To use group tabs, follow the steps given below.
Step 1: Open the Safari technology preview on your system by searching for it in the finder.
Step 2: Click on the drop-down arrow next to the sidebar.
Step 3: Select the New Empty Tab Group to create a new group or click on New Tab Group with Tabs to put open tabs into a group.
Apart from categorising tabs, Safari lets users manage tabs easily by offering tab management features like moving tabs from one group to another, deleting tabs and tab renaming features.
