Samsung has expanded its Tab A series in India by launching the Galaxy Tab A8. The tablet starts at INR 17999 for the base model and is currently the most powerful Tab A series device offered by Samsung, featuring a 10.5-inch touchscreen and is available in both an LTE and WiFi variant.
The tablet runs on Samsung’s One UI 3 powered by Android 11 and features the Unisoc Tiger T618 octa-core SoC that goes up to 2GHz. It has a TFT display coming in at 1200 x 1920 pixels along with an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front.
It’ll be available starting January 17 with the WiFi variant priced at INR 17999 for the 3GB+32GB model and INR 19999 for the 4GB+64GB model. The LTE variant starts at INR 21999 for 3GB+32GB model and INR 23999 for the 4GB+64GB model.

Tab A series becomes more powerful
As mentioned above, the tablet is powered by the octa-core Tiger T618 octa-core SoC with two 2GHz Cortex-A75 cores and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. Buyers will also have the choice to select between 3 or 4GB of RAM and 32 and 64GB storage options. The tablet also comes with a microSDXC card slot to expand storage.
There are two cameras onboard, an 8MP 1080p auto-focus camera on the rear and a similar 5MP 1080p camera on the front, which supports facial recognition. Other security features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Samsung’s Knox.
You also get a 7040mAh battery with 15W fast charging over USB-C 2.0. Additionally, there’s dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and the usual sensors, including accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass.

The tablet will go on sale starting January 17 in two separate variants. Additionally, ICICI Bank Debit and Credit cardholders can get INR 2000 cashback and get a book cover worth INR 4499 for INR 999.
