Samsung launches Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, smart ring and more

Samsung launched a variety of new devices and gadgets, including foldable and flip phones, smartwatches, and earbuds, at its Galaxy Unpacked Event held today in Paris, France. Starting with the new Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7, and Galaxy Buds 3 Series, Samsung entered the smart ring competition with the launch of the Galaxy Ring.

The Korean tech giant discussed many new device features, including artificial intelligence functions. The new earbuds series has an overhauled design and regular and pro versions. The company’s most powerful smartwatch is the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Galaxy Z Fold6 foldable phone

The new Galaxy Z Fold6 comes with AI-powered features and tools. Samsung Notes’ Note Assist feature offers translation, summaries, and auto-formatting. The phone is fully integrated with the latest Google Gemini app, and saying, “Hey Google,” brings up Gemini’s overlay.

The new device also comes with a ‘Circle to Search’ feature, which helps search the screen’s circled portion instantly. It has an improved coating with a less noticeable crease and smaller bezels. The pricing for the device starts at $1,899.

Galaxy Z Flip6 flip phone

The new Z Flip6 has improved sturdiness and a more durable inner flexible glass. It also has AI-assisted functions similar to the Fold6. New features such as Suggested replies, which analyze the latest messages to suggest responses, have been integrated into the 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow.

The cover screen has many more widgets that can be used without flipping open the phone. Both the Fold6 and Flip6 are equipped with Samsung Knox. The Samsung Galaxy Flip6 starts at $1,099.

Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatch

The new Ultra smartwatch features a Titanium Grade 4 frame and 10ATM water resistance for rough usage. It comes with a new Quick Button, which functions can be mapped to, and an Emergency Siren for safety.

It is one of the first smartwatches powered by Wear OS 5. Additionally, it has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The price of the Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatch is $649.99.

Galaxy Watch7 smartwatch

The new smartwatch has a few AI and non-AI features allowing one to use the Suggested replies functionality and Double Pinch Gestures to control the smartwatch and the connected Galaxy smartphone. It has a new advanced algorithm for sleep analysis which can check for potential signs of sleep apnea.

It has basic sensors which can monitor heart rate and blood pressure. However, heart rate monitoring can detect irregular heart rhythms. It has a Dual-frequency GPS, which makes it possible to track locations in cluttered urban areas accurately.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 comes at $299.99.

Samsung’s first-ever smart ring

Samsung has entered the smart ring market with its own Galaxy Ring. The new smart ring works with Samsung Health without a subscription. It uses a sleep AI algorithm to observe sleep patterns, movement during sleep, and heart and respiratory rate.

It has a concave design with a Titanium Grade 5 finish and 10ATM water resistance for decent durability. The battery is said to last for seven days, and the ring comes with a charging case.

New Galaxy buds with Galaxy AI

The Galaxy Buds3 series utilises a few AI features, similar to the Nothing’s Ear series. Its Interpreter function will directly translate live audio.

The Voice Command allows the user to access control functions without touching the earbuds. The earbuds analyse real-time internal and external audio to improve sound accordingly via Adaptive EQ and Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation. It also has more features such as adaptive noise control, siren detection, and voice detection.
