TikTok has been all the rage ever since its launch, getting most of its users hooked to the app and scrolling for hours on end. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of creators on the app that churn out content constantly.

However, just like everything tech, TikTok also suffers from the occasional bugs and glitches. In this article, we’re taking a look at why your TikTok might’ve stopped working out of the blue.

Why is TikTok not working?

The app is used by millions worldwide at any given point in time which means, uncalled crashes are pretty common. There are several reasons why your TikTok might not be working.

  • Internet issues on your end.
  • TikTok might be down.

How to fix the TikTok not working issue?

Here are a few solutions you can try out to see if you can get rid of the issue.

Update your app

The first thing you should try is looking for updates for the TikTok app. Head over to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and check if you’ve got any updates. If any updates are available, install them right away and try again.

Reinstall TikTok

If updating didn’t work, try removing the app from your phone and installing it again. This can help freshen things up and eliminate any corrupt files or data hindering app functionality.

Check for connectivity issues

Check to make sure you have an active internet connection. If you’re on WiFi, check to ensure that you have an active connection issue and good signal strength. If you’re using mobile data, check to make sure that you have network coverage and that mobile data is actually enabled.

Use a VPN

Often TikTok will release a feature in one region and not the other. In such cases, you can get around these geo-restrictions using a VPN. Select a server in a location where you know the feature works and try again.
