Subtitles and closed captions usually pop up at the bottom of any movie or show you watch in your native language. It can be both irritating and helpful for many people. It can be beneficial and helpful for people with impaired hearing. It can also help you understand a different language in your native words when you are watching a foreign-based show or a movie.
This article will focus on Peacock and how you can switch off subtitles or closed captions. Also, if you didn’t know before, subtitles and closed captions have two different functions.
What are closed captions?
Closed captions differ from subtitles by describing any background noise or any sound that is audio without speech. This is usually not a requirement for many people as it can either kill the vibe of your TV series or movie or be a distraction in a tense scene. Closed captions are usually called CC on any video streaming or OTT platform. These platforms usually provide separate options to switch off closed captions (CC) and keep subtitles.
Closed captions or subtitles can only be turned off when a video is playing.
