Twitch is one of the most popular video game streaming platforms that has since evolved into a popular platform for streaming in general. There’s everything here you’d expect from a streaming platform, including a separate chat window.
However, if you’re watching a live stream with a lot of viewers in it, keeping track of the chat becomes a bit of a task, especially considering just how small the chat window is on the streaming page.
This feature is also beneficial for the streamer themselves as they can have a chat on a separate screen which helps a lot when it comes to being able to read and/or interact with the chat itself without having to squint every time you get a message.
In this article, we’re taking a look at how you can pop out the Twitch chat to a separate page.

Popping out Twitch chat
Note that while Twitch is accessible from both its phone app and a browser, you’re locked into the interface on the app, meaning there’s no way to pop out the chat. You can, however, do this if you’re accessing Twitch from a browser.
The process to separate the chat was quite complicated previously. However, since then, it’s been streamlined. While earlier you had to copy the chat’s iFrame and paste it in an HTML document to view the chat separately, all you need to do now is click a button; here’s what you need to do.
Step 1: Log on to Twitch and start watching a live stream. You can separate the chat window without watching a live stream.

Step 2: Click on the Chat Settings icon in the bottom right.

Step 3: Click on the Popout Chat option.

As you can see, the chat will now appear in a separate window that you can place anywhere.
