Use the Airplane Mode

Swipe through the story
Facebook does not put on the viewers’ list if you only swipe through the story halfway. You can use this method to peek into the story without fully bringing it into the viewport and hence not getting your profile on the viewers’ list.
Temporarily deactivate your account
Another thing you can do is deactivate your account after watching the story. This will prevent your name from showing up on the viewers’ list as your account wouldn’t be available for the duration of the story being posted. Once 24 hours have passed, you can reactivate your account and start using the platform as usual.
