Consequences of unblocking someone on iMessage
One can block messages on iMessage when one wants to filter out unwanted messages from unknown senders and block spam or junk messages. However, if you were to unblock someone on iMessage then they will be able to face the following results:
- You will receive text messages from your previously blocked contact on iMessage. If their contact name is not saved currently, then you can filter unknown senders and you will not be notified when they message you.
- If the previously blocked person is not on your contact list then you will receive a Report Junk link under their message. If you tap on this link then Apple will receive information about the sender from iMessages. However, this will not stop the stream of junk messages unless you block them again.
- You will be able to listen to their voice messages, even those sent by them when they were blocked. When blocked, any voice message sent by the blocked contact will appear as blocked messages without any notification.
- New messages will be delivered after unblocking however, any message sent or received during the period of blocking will not be delivered or received after unblocking the contact.
- The blocked contact will not be notified about their blocked or unblocked status.

Blocking someone on iMessage

- Open the Phone app and tap on the number with the person present in your Recents or Contacts that you want to block.
- Scroll down and tap on Block this Caller.
- Tap on Block Contact to confirm.

Unblocking someone on iMessage
The iMessage app on an iPhone does not have a direct blocking option so if you want to unblock someone on iMessage, then head to your Phone app and follow the steps given as follows:
- Tap on the contact name of the person that you want to unblock.
- Tap on the Info button, if present, otherwise scroll down and tap on Unblock this Caller.
The contact will be automatically unblocked.
