Why don’t I have Instagram Notes?

Instagram launched a handy feature that lets you share brief updates with your followers and friends in December 2022 called Notes, providing a personal space to express your thoughts in just 60 characters. You can even include a music tune or a video to enhance your message. However, a lot of users have raised concerns about the Notes option not showing up on their accounts.

How to access Instagram Notes?

To access the Notes feature follow the steps below:

  • Open the Instagram app and tap on the Direct Messages icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  • The Your Note icon is available at the top of direct messages with your profile picture on it. Tap on it.
  • You can type your thoughts, add music or small video and then you have select options for sharing by tapping on the Share with button at the bottom of the page.

Ensure Instagram Notes is available in your region

Instagram Notes aren’t currently available in all regions. You might not see the feature if you’re outside the initial rollout zones. Check with friends in your region to see if they have access. If they also don’t see it, the feature is unavailable in your region.


Update the app

Ensure you have the latest version of the Instagram app installed on your device. App updates often include bug fixes and new features, potentially resolving issues related to the absence of Instagram Notes.

Clear Instagram app cache

The corrupted cache can be why you don’t see the Notes feature; you can try clearing the Instagram app’s cache to resolve the issue.

For iPhone

Go to Settings > General > iPhone > Offload App to offload an app and clear the cache.


Reinstall the app

If you still don’t see the Notes feature, you can delete the Instagram app and reinstall it on your device. It ensures you have the latest version of the app and resolves issues caused by corrupted files.
