How to fix the issue?
If your Snapchat is lagging or sometimes gets slower than usual, we have explained a few methods to help you fix the issue.
Restart the device
The background apps or temporary glitches may be slowing your phone’s performance and causing lags on Snapchat. Over time, as you use your phone, more processes accumulate, consuming memory and processing power. Restarting the phone refreshes all the apps and resolves basic issues caused by temporary glitches and background processes.
Use a faster internet connection
Snapchat has many features like filters, lenses, and Snap Map, but they use much data. When your mobile internet connection is sluggish or unreliable, it can result in consistent lagging within the Snapchat app. So check your internet connection or try using a faster internet connection.

Clear app cache
If you’ve been using Snapchat for a long time, it might have stored much cache data on your phone. However, there are instances when this cache data becomes outdated or corrupted, leading to issues like lagging.

Disable data saver mode
Snapchat’s data saver feature can be a lifesaver when your mobile data runs low. But if you keep it enabled all the time, Snapchat might not work smoothly, and things like filters, special effects, and pictures may take longer to show up. So, it’s a good idea to turn off the data-saving feature when you don’t need it. To disable the feature, follow the steps below;

- Open the Snapchat and tap on the Profile icon at the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap on the Settings icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- In settings, scroll down a bit, find Data Saver and tap on it.
- Uncheck the box beside the Data Saver option.

Update the app
Using an outdated version of Snapchat can lead to slow performance. Developers often release updates to fix bugs, optimise performance, and introduce new features. If you’re using an older version, it may not be as efficient as the latest one.

Reinstall the app
If the above-explained methods don’t work for you, you can try reinstalling the app. Sometimes, a few files get corrupted and cause issues with the app, resulting in lags and a slower loading process. To fix it, uninstall the Snapchat app from your phone and install it again.
