Acer has launched four new Chromebooks, including a 17.3-inch model, available in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa starting next month.
The industry-first 17.3-inch (FHD) Acer Chromebook 317 is also one of the cheaper options of the new lot, starting at US$379.99. It’ll be powered by the latest Intel Celeron processor, features a company-claimed 10-hour battery life, two USB 3.2 Type-C ports, two upward-facing speakers, and supports WiFi 6 (Gig+), a Backlit keyboard and a touchscreen model are optional.
On the other end of the price spectrum, the Acer Spinbook 713 starts at $699. It is now powered by the 11th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, features a 13.5-inch (2256 x 1504) display and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. The company also claims 10-hour battery life for this model and a quick charging up to four hours backup on a 30-minute charge. It also boasts military-grade (U.S. MIL-STD 810H) durability. A fingerprint reader is optional.
The Acer Chromebook 514 starts at $599 and features a quick-charging battery that delivers 10-hour of backup. The laptop also gets the 11th-gen Intel chipset, WiFi 6 support, Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 ports, a backlit keyboard. Similar to the Spinbook, this one also comes with the MIL-STD 810H durability grade.
The cheapest of the lot, Acer Chromebook 314 comes at a starting price of $269, and it comes with cheap hardware too. Mediatek MT8183 octa-core processor powers the machine; however, the 15-hour long battery life is a saving grace, as is the 14-inch FHD IPS display. The Chromebook also gets USB Type-C ports and an optional touchscreen.
