A television series with seven seasons, Bosch started streaming in 2014. The main character, Harry Bosch, is played by Titus Welliver. With a total of 68 episodes, the series is based on the novels by Michael Connelly and streams in English and is an Emmy-nominated title.

The series is followed by another series by Michael Connell, starring Titus Welliver, called Bosch: Legacy.

The Fall

The Fall is a three-season and 17 episodes-long crime thriller starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan. It was released in 2013 and concluded in 2016.

Stella Gibson, a senior investigating Metropolitan Police Superintendent who generally reviews investigations, is called upon for a murder investigation case open for over 28 days. The case turns out to be of a serial killer attacking professional young women in the city of Belfast. As the case develops over time, there are complications inside and outside the police service.

The series is both an Emmy and Golden Globe winner, having an IMDb rating of 8.1 and 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is available based on location bases.

The Night Manager

Starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, and Elizabeth Debicki, The Night Manager was released in 2016 and had only one season with six episodes to binge on. It is a murder mystery based on a novel by John le Carré.

The lead, Jonathan Pine, played by Tom Hiddleston, was an ex-soldier and is currently a night manager in a luxurious hotel. He is hired by the British Intelligence and spies on the gangster and illegal arms dealer who is also involved in a murder of a girl.

The series was nominated for 36 awards and has won 11 awards, including 3 Golden Globes and 2 Emmys. The series has an 8.1 rating on IMDb and 91% on Rotten Tomatoes by critics, and 89% by the audience.

Midsomer Murders

Based on the fiction by Caroline Graham, Midsomer Murders is 22 seasons and still running. Initially released in 1997, the series stars John Nettles, Daniel Casey, Barry Jackson, Jane Wymark and Laura Howard.

The series is focused on the crimes and murder cases occurring in smaller country villages. It differs from other crime series by offering dark humour and playfulness. The series showcases the work and efforts of the Detective Chief Inspector – Tom Barnaby, and later John Barnaby, who solve murders in a fictional county of Midsomer.

The series has an IMDb rating of 7.9 and is suitable for 14+ age groups. This series is accessible to specific locations only.

The Mentalist

Having seven seasons and 151 episodes, the Mentalist was created and produced by Bruno Heller, starring Simon Baker as a psychic Patrick Jane and Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon, alongwith Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman and Amanda Righetti.

Patrick Jane, initially a con artist, who everyone considers to be a psychic, works with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a consultant after the murder of his wife and daughter by a famous serial killer – Red John. Using his out-of-the-box techniques, cold reading skills and mastery of hypnosis, he closes every case that comes to the CBI with his partner and boss, Teresa Lisbon. He eventually also works for the FBI as a consultant after the closure of the Red John case after season 6.

With an IMDb rating of 8.1 and an 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes, between 2009 and 2015, the series and its stars have been nominated multiple times and won 4 awards, including People’s Choice Awards, Outstanding new program, the award for scientific and critical thinking and Best Drama TV series.

Released in 2017, Absentia is a three seasons series with 30 episodes. It is directed by Oded Ruskin and stars Stana Katic, Matthew Le Nevez and Patrick Heusinger,

The lead is an FBI agent, Emily Byrne, who had disappeared mysteriously while chasing down a serial killer and was declared dead, returns after six years with no memory of the past six years. When she returns, she finds her family has moved on and sees her son being raised by his new step-mom. She also soon finds out that she has been implicated as the prime suspect in a series of murders, where she must prove her innocence and reclaim her family.

It is a 16+ and A-rated series, with an IMDb rating of 7.2 and critic reviews saying it sticks very closely to the traditional and procedural handbook. The other ratings towards the series are also mixed and average.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Created by Anthony E. Zuiker, CSI stars William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Gary Dourdan, George Eads, Jorja Fox and Paul Guilfoyle. It was released in 2000 and had 15 seasons with 337 episodes.

The leadership team of the series is the Las Vegas Police Department. They use physical evidence on the crime scenes to solve murders. Gil Grisson, played by William Peterson, is a forensic entomologist, and his second in command is Catherine Willows, played by Marg Helgenberger, a blood splatter specialist. The forensic evidence experts use technical and scientific analysis to catch the criminals.

CSI was followed by a series named CSI: Vegas in 2021. Three other related shows were released, namely CSI: Miami, CSI: NY and CSI: Cyber. The series is available based on location.
