Youtube has become one of the go-to places for people to not only watch varying genres of user-generated as well as brand-generated content but is increasingly also becoming a popular space for streamers of all sorts, including some popular gamers. However, it’s not necessary that you would like everything that channels on the Google-owned online video sharing and streaming platform.
In addition to the channels that you’ve subscribed to, Youtube also recommends related content on your homepage stream, based on the videos that you’ve watched on the platform. But if you don’t like what you see, you can simply follow the guide below to stop Youtube from showing you content from that channel in the future.
If you’re a Youtuber, you can also block some other user or channel from commenting on your videos.

Block a YouTube channel’s video from appearing
Open Youtube’s website or app on Android or iOS and follow the steps mentioned below to block a Youtube channel’s videos from surfacing on your homepage feed.
- Tap on the triple-dot (meatball) menu icon below any video of a channel that you want to block from your homepage feed.
- Then from the options that appear, tap on the Don’t recommend channel option. You can alternatively also choose the Not interested option from the list.
Youtube will stop recommending content from the selected channel thereafter.

Block a YouTube channel or user from commenting on your videos
You can also block a Youtube channel or user from commenting on your uploads. Follow the respective guides below to do the same on PC or Youtube app for Android or iOS.
Via the website on PC
Login to your account on Youtube.com and go to the Youtube channel or user who you want to block from commenting on your videos.
Then click on the Flag icon on the About page of the channel and homepage of a user. From the options that appear, click on Block user.
You can use the same steps to unblock a user that you’ve blocked.

Via the Android or iOS app
Open the Youtube app on your Android or iOS device, go to the page of the channel or user who you want to block from commenting on your uploads and follow the steps mentioned below.
- Tap on the triple-dot (meatball) menu icon.
- From the options that appear at the bottom, tap on Block user.
- Then on the confirmation prompt, tap on Block.
As mentioned above, you can repeat the same process above to unblock a channel or user.
