In the wake of globalisation, most software and games now support multiple languages to make it easy for regional players to pick their products up.
Languages often play an important role in the success of any application regardless of its user base. It’s a subtle feature, which is often overlooked but can really make or break a particular release in a specific region.
If a large enough number of users don’t find the content in their regional language, eventually they will move on to other games or applications.
A game as popular as Fortnite is bound to support multiple languages to satisfy its ever-expanding player base. In this article. we take a look at how to change the language in Fortnite.
Note that the same steps mentioned below will apply for changing the language in Fortnite across platforms — PC, Switch, PS, Xbox and smartphones.
Changing language in Fortnite
Step 1: Click on the three horizontal bars in the top right corner of the main menu
Step 2: Click on the Settings option
Step 3: Click on the Gear icon/Game tab and select the language of your choice under Language and Region. As you can see, in addition to English there are a bunch of languages to choose from, including English. Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish.
Most of these languages come from the regions where the game has a significant player base. If you don’t see your language in the game yet, it might get added later on as the player base in your region grows. For now however, you’ll have to stick with what is currently supported.
As mentioned above, the same steps would apply for changing the language on other platforms including but not limited to PS4, Switch and Xbox.
