How to change your YouTube channel’s name?

Branding your channel is an important aspect of being successful on Youtube. Having a good, sharp and memorable name goes a long way in making your channel appealing to your audience.

It could be anything. If you run a channel for your company, your channel can be named after your company (just like ours). If it’s a personal channel you can either come up with a witty name or just have our own and make an identity out of that. 

In this article, we’re going to take a look at how to change your YouTube channel’s name.

Changing your YouTube channel’s name on PC

Regardless of whether you’re on the YouTube app or in a web browser, the process is actually quite straightforward. 

Step 1: Head over to YouTube Studio and log in with your channel’s credentials.

Step 2: Scroll down the left side and click on the Customization option.

Step 3: Head over to the Basic info tab and click on the pencil icon in front of your channel’s name. You’ll be able to edit your channel’s name to whatever it is you want.

Keep in mind that you’re only allowed 3 name changes every 90 days. Also, your new channel name will also reflect on your Google account.

Changing your YouTube channel’s name from the YouTube app

If you’re on the  Youtube app for Android or iOS, here’s what you can do to change your Youtube channel’s name.

  • Tap on your current profile picture in the top-right corner. 
  • Tap on Your Channel.
  • Tap on the Edit Channel button. 
  • Tap on the pencil icon in front of your current channel name and you’ll be able to change it to your preference.
