How to fix the issue?

Here are a few ways to help you know what happened to the content.

Check the server status

When Facebook’s servers are down, many features won’t work, including viewing posts. Check other social media platforms like Reddit to know if other users are facing the same issue. You can also use websites like Downdetector to check the server status. If the server is down, you can’t do anything but wait patiently.

The content was removed

When you see ‘This Content Isn’t Available’, it often means the person who posted it has removed it. Sometimes, Facebook itself takes down content if it violates its rules. Facebook takes reported posts seriously. If a post is reported and found to break the rules, it can be removed quickly.

What kind of content can get taken down?

  • Anything with nudity or sexual content.
  • Hate speech, threats, or attacks on people or groups.
  • Posts that show self-harm or excessive violence.
  • Fake profiles or spam.

Privacy settings have changed

The Sorry, this page isn’t available message appears when a link you’re trying to view has been removed or when privacy settings are altered. Some Facebook pages have specific privacy settings, meaning a post might only be viewable by certain communities, regions, or age groups.

If you don’t fit into those categories, you’ll see the content isn’t available error. You might also see different messages when viewing content with custom privacy settings.

You have been blocked

One of the main reasons for the Facebook content not being available error is being blocked by the person who posted it. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do in this case.

To confirm whether you’ve been blocked or if the user has deactivated or deleted their account, ask a friend if they can see the person’s profile. If they can and you can’t, you’ve likely been blocked.

You blocked the user

If you have blocked someone on Facebook, you won’t be able to see their posts. You’ll get an error message if you try to view a post from someone you’ve blocked. To see their posts again, you need to unblock them from your settings.

The user deleted their Facebook profile

It’s not uncommon for people to delete their Facebook profiles. If you can’t see a post and get the Sorry, this page isn’t available message, the person who shared it may have deactivated or deleted their profile.

You can check this by opening their profile URL in a new tab. If it shows an error message, the profile is gone. You’ll only see the post again if the profile is restored.
