Founded in 1997, New Delhi-based Info Edge-owned Naukri.com is one of the most popular recruitment platforms in India that connects job seekers with recruiters online and was one of the first ones to offer the service online in the country.

If you’ve accepted a job offer and want to get rid of your Naukri.com account, or don’t find the platform useful, here is a guide to help you deactivate or delete your Naukri account in a few simple steps via the website on PC and smartphone or via the smartphone app.

But before you go ahead, here are a few things you should know.

For account deletion: It can take up to 24 hours for Naukri(.com) to remove your profile once you’ve completed the deletion process and it might take up to a week for the emails from Naukri to stop.
Once the Naukri account is deleted, all of its data will be removed, you won’t be able to login to the same profile again or create a Naukri profile using the same email ID.
For account deactivation: Once you’ve deactivated your Naukri(.com) account, the company will stop sending your emails and notifications regarding jobs opportunities and otherwise — all correspondence will stop. To reactivate your account, simply login to the Naukri site or app.
Once deactivated, your profile won’t be visible to recruiters either.

How to delete your Naukri account via PC?

Step 1: Click on My Naukri option at the top-right of the screen and then click on Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: On the next page, under Communications and Privacy, scroll down to the bottom and click on Read More below No looking for a job change right now.

Step 3: Now click on the downward-facing arrow icon in the box beside Your account will be deactivated for and click on Delete Account from the dropdown menu.

How to deactivate or delete your Naukri.com account?

Step 4: A pop-up window will appear asking you for a reason to delete your Naukri account. Choose one of the options and then click on the Delete Account button.

If prompted, enter your password to confirm the deletion of the account.

How to delete your Naukri account via the smartphone app?

Tap on the menu icon at the top-left of the app display.
Then on the menu, tap on Settings.
On the next page, tap on the first option Communication & Privacy.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the next page and tap on the three vertical dots beside Not looking for a job change right now.
From the dropdown menu, tap on Delete Account.
On the pop-up, tap on both the boxes so that a tick mark appears and then tap on Continue.

How to deactivate your Naukri account via PC?

How to deactivate your Naukri account via the smartphone app?

Then on the menu, tap on Settings.
On the next page, tap on the first option Communication & Privacy.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the next page and tap on the More option below Not looking for a job change right now.
The window will expand below and two options with boxes will appear. Tap on both the boxes so that a tick mark appears and then tap on De-activate my Account button.
On the next page, select a reason to deactivate your account and then tap on Continue to De-activate button at the bottom.
