Trello is a task management app that can help your team get up to speed on their assigned tasks rather quickly. Using a system of boards, which are further divided into cards, Trello allows team leaders to keep an eye on each task and know its status in a glance.
In this article, we’re going over what a card inside a Trello board is and how you can delete one.
What is a Trello card?
In simple terms, a card is basically the simplest unit of a Trello board. Consider the Trello board as a whiteboard with many sticky notes on it; each of those notes is a card.
Cards can be beneficial as they can store and show text and link files, documents, and data sources from various repositories. You can also assign cards to specific team members and keep an eye on their progress by monitoring the said card.
They also let other members of your team collaborate openly on the task at hand. This makes it easier to keep track of each member’s contribution and, of course, the task progress.

How to delete a card in Trello?
Deleting a card is a two-step process. You’re first going to have to archive a card and then delete it if you’d like.
As long as a card is archived, it won’t show up on the board but can always be restored. Deleting a card, however, is permanent, and once you delete a card, it’s’ gone for good.
Follow these steps to delete a card on your board.
Step 1: Click on the card you want to delete to open the card details.
Step 2: Scroll down and click on Archive under Actions.
Step 3: The Archive button will now split in two. One button will let you unarchive the card and send it back to the board, and the other will let you delete the card permanently. Click on Delete to proceed.
Step 4: Trello will show you a warning message and ask for a confirmation. Click on Delete to get rid of the card forever.
