Restart the device

Generally, inappropriate activity-detected error occurs because of software issues. To resolve such problems, a good troubleshooting step is to restart your gaming device or Steam if you’re playing on a PC.

Verify the integrity of game files

Some of the files and folders of the game may have been corrupted during installation, which might be causing the error. Follow the steps below to verify your game files.

Step 1: Launch Steam and click on the Library tab. Then Right-click on Elden Ring, and from the drop-down menu, click on Properties.

Step 2: Find the Local Files and click Verify Integrity of Game Files.

It will re-install the missing files and eventually fix the error they caused.


Repair Easy Anti-Cheat certificates

One of the main reasons for this error can be some corrupted, easy anti-cheat files; you can repair them to resolve this error. To repair them, follow the steps below.

  • Go to the Elden Ring game folder on your PC.
  • In the Elden Ring folder, Locate the EasyAntiCheat folder.
  • Right-click on the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe file.
  • In the drop-down menu, click on the Run as Administrator option.
  • If it’s not installed on your PC yet, you will see the Install Service button; if it’s already installed, you will see the Repair Service button. Click on whichever button you see.

After completing the installation or repair process, run the game again and check whether it’s working fine or not.

Change language settings

Many players have resolved the issue by changing the language settings. To change the language settings, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Press Windows + I key to open settings and then click on Time & Language tab.

Step 2: Click on Language and then on the right side of the screen under Related settings, click on the Administrative language settings option.

Step 3: In the pop-up window, click the Change system locale button.

Step 4: Check mark the box beside Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support option and click the OK button.

Step 5: Restart your PC and check if the error persists.


Reinstall the game

If none of the above methods works, you may need to perform a clean installation. It can often fix more significant issues with the game’s files and settings.
