When copying a file from your PC to a network folder, you may sometimes run into an issue that goes something like ‘Error 0x80070718 Not enough Quota is Available to Process this Command’. This issue occurs on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.

What causes the 0x80070718 error in Windows?

The issue is caused by a number of reasons. The most popular ones are as follows.

• Low disk usage limit: The issue is most likely to occur because your default disk usage limits are not enough to accommodate the files you’re trying to share. 
• Using an SSD as the default save location: Several users have reported that the error occurs when they’re using an SSD as the default save location for the files they’re trying to share.
• File/Folder is corrupted: If your save folder or the files you’re trying to share are corrupted, you can run into this issue as well.

How to fix the 0x80070718 error in Windows?

Here are three ways you can fix this error.

Change the Disk Usage limits

Step 1: Press the Windows key and search for Control Panel. Click on it to proceed.

Alternatively, you can also press Windows key + R to open the Run prompt. Type in control.exe and hit enter.

Step 2: Inside the Control Panel, search for Sync Center. Click on it to proceed.

Step 3: Click on Manage Offline Files from the left-side menu.

Step 4: Head over to the Disk Usage tab and click on Change limits.

Step 5: Now, set the maximum limit while making sure it’s big enough to let you share the files you were trying to do.

Restart your computer and try again.

Changing the default save location

If you’re using an SSD as the default save location, try changing it to a conventional HDD to see if it resolve the 0x80070718 error for you. 

Step 1: Press Windows Key + R to open the Run prompt. Now type in ms-settings:savelocations and press enter. 

Step 2: Change the save location from your SSD to an HDD. Be sure to click Apply every time you make a change.

Restart your PC and give it another go.

Repair Windows’ files and folders

If you’ve got corrupted Windows files or the files you’re trying to share is corrupt, you can try to fix them using the DiagCab tool.

Step 1: Head over to this page to download the DiagCab file.

Step 2: Double click the downloaded file. 

Step 3: Click on Advanced Settings and check the Apply repairs automatically. Click on Next to proceed.

Step 4: Wait until the initial scan is completed. Now check the Others, or I don’t know checkbox and click Next again.

Step 5: The troubleshooter will scan your PC once again and show all the errors. Check all the checkboxes associated with repair strategies and click Next.

Wait until all repairs are finished. Now reboot your PC and try copying your files again. The 0x80070718 error should be resolve on your Windows PC.
