Deactivating your Primary PS4

Here’s how you can deactivate the PS4 as your main device. 

Step 1: Head over to Settings in the PS4 utility menu.

Step 2: Click on Account Management.

Step 3: Head over to Activate as Your Primary PS4.

Step 4: Select Deactivate from the list.

Once you’re done with this, we can now proceed to factory resetting the PS4.

How to Factory Reset a PS4?

Factory resetting your PS4 will delete all the data on it, including any photos, videos or screenshots you might have saved. Make sure you have a backup of your PS4 data before proceeding.

Follow these steps to factory reset your PS4.

Step 1: Head over to Settings in the PS4 utility menu.

Step 2: Scroll down to find Initialisation and click on it to proceed.

Step 3: Head over to Initialise PS4.

Step 4: Select Full from the list.

Now sit back and wait for your PS4 to finish wiping all data. The process can take several hours.
