Amazon’s Firestick is a rather popular product that can turn any TV or even a display with an HDMI port, for that matter, into a smart TV. However, just like everything tech, the product also isn’t bulletproof.
In this article, we’re taking a look at what to do when your FIrestick keeps restarting.
Use the original accessories
Your Firestick comes with a USB cable and power adaptor. While in theory, it should work with any USB cable and power adaptor that supplies the required voltage. Using the original accessories is always a good idea because you never know when what goes wrong.Â

Replace the USB cable
On the contrary, the original USB cable that came with the product might be broken, and it’s time you consider replacing it with another, similar quality one. Try swapping cables to see if that solves the Firestick keeps restarting issue.
Replace the adaptor
Similarly, the power adaptor can also be facing issues. Try swapping it with phone chargers or any other 5v power adaptors lying around to see if that works.Â
Use the power outlet
If you’re plugging the Firestick in your TV’s USB outlet, try using a power outlet instead. Most TVs USB ports aren’t powerful enough to power the Firestick, and that power fluctuation can cause the Firestick to reboot.Â
Similarly, if you’re plugging the Firestick into a power extension or USB hub, try removing it and connecting the device straight into a power outlet.Â

Remove any HDMI devices
Remove any other HDMI devices that may be connected to your display. On TVs with lower power output, having simultaneous HDMI connections can cause interference which in turn can cause the Firestick keeps restarting error.
Disable HDMI CEC
The HDMI CEC feature lets you control multiple HDMI devices using a single remote. Most modern TVs now come with this feature, and if it’s enabled for your Firestick, it can interfere with the device’s functionality. Try disabling CEC to see if that helps.Â
Update the Firestick
The issue can also be caused by outdated firmware on the Firestick. Try updating it to see if that solves your problem. To update your device, head over to Fire TV Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for System update.
