How to fix Fortnite error 91?

No piece of software — regardless how well-polished — is immune to bugs and the same trickles down to our games as well. One such perfect example is Fortnite. While the game is known for its smooth UI and stable gameplay experience, it does run into issues from time to time.

One very common issue you might run into when playing Fortnite is Error 91. The error happens when there is some sort of connection problem between the game’s client on your device and the server.

The general fixes in such cases are usually restarting the game or power-cycling your networking equipment like any routers or switches that you may be using. Sometimes, it’s just a server issue that you can do nothing about.

If for whatever reason that hasn’t worked for you, here’s what you can do to try and fix the issue.

There are basically two ways to fix this issue

Verifying your game files

You can try verifying your game files in the Epic Launcher to make sure your game is intact and is not missing any files. It’s suggested that you restart your PC before following these steps.

Step 1: Fire up the Epic Game Launcher and head over to your Library.

Reinstall the game

Now you can try installing it again and that should fix all problems on your side. If the issue persists, then there’s a good chance that it’s a server issue and all you can do is wait for Epic to fix things.
