A relatively new concept that has emerged in the past few seasons of LOL, Orange essence can be used to make a champion or ward skin permanent using its skin shard.
In this article, we discuss how you can get orange essence in League of Legends.
2 ways to get Orange Essence in LOL
Every time (per champion) that you or a teammate scores S grade in-game, you’ll receive a chest. The chest mostly contains a skin shard (or a champion shard if you’re unlucky), but at times you also get up to 270 orange essence when you open the chest.
Even if you don’t get orange essence directly, you can disenchant one of the ward or champion skin shards to receive some orange essence, which can then be used to permanently unlock a skin of your favourite champion or ward via the skin shard.
Disenchanting skin shard to get Orange Essence
Login to the game client and follow the steps mentioned below to disenchant a skin shard (champion or ward) to get orange essence in LOL.
Step 1: Go to the Loot page on the LOL client by clicking on the Loot icon. Then scroll down, and you’ll see a list of all the unused skin shards you’ve accumulated on the left sidebar under the Skinsheading. Click on the skin shard that you want to exchange for orange essence and then click on Disenchant into Essence option from the list. Step 2: Then confirm the exchange by clicking on the Disenchant button. Note that the orange essence that you’ll get in exchange for the champion shard is mentioned in both the steps above. You can also disenchant a ward skin shard to get orange essence, which you’ll find under the Ward Skins heading.
Get orange essence from the LOL store
You can also purchase orange essence from the League of Legends store.
- Click on the store icon.
- Then click on Loot.
- Scroll down to the bottom, and you’ll find multiple chests there.
- You can either buy the Masterwork Chest or the combo of 5 Hextech Chests & Keys + Bonus Essence to get orange essence.
Note that while the combo is guaranteed to contain 50 orange essence, the Masterwork Chest might have orange essence, emote and champion or ward skin shard.
