Free to play games are always fun as you don’t need to really spend a single penny to have some fun but even though we all like free stuff, the fact still remains that even game developers need to feed themselves and so it’s important that they make some money out of the game they create.
League of Legends is one of the most popular free-to-play games and rightly so it also offers in-game purchases, which provide summoners with cosmetic upgrades for the most part. Now since LOL has in-game purchases, it’s obvious that it also has an in-game currency (which has to be bought with real-world money), called RP or Riot Points.
In its early years, Riot used to offer 400 free RP to anyone who joins the game. Needless to say, a lot of players started creating additional LOL accounts just to get their hands on that extra RP and gift themselves (original accounts) some champion skins or other stuff from the game store. Riot saw where it went wrong and soon thereafter stopped offering free RP to new accounts.
However, if you’ve become hooked to League of Legends and want to give back something to the wonderful developers at Riot — while enjoying cosmetic upgrades — for the entertaining piece of free-to-play software, here is how you can get RP in LOL in a few easy steps, followed by how you can gift RP to other summoners in LOL. (Ps. You can ask one of your cool game buddies to gift you some RP using this guide; scroll to the end of the article and help them help you!).
