If you’re an organiser, here’s how to cancel Google Calendar event for everyone:

On desktop

On your desktop, open Google Calendar and head to the event. Next, click on the event and then press the Delete event option at the of the panel.

Another way to delete an event is by right-clicking and then Delete.


On Google Calendar app

You can cancel an event on the Google Calendar app. Here’s how:

  • Open Google Calendar and then tap on the event.
  • Next, tap on the three-dot button at the top.
  • Select Delete.

How to cancel Google Calendar event invite?

If you’re invited to an event on Google Calendar and cannot go, you can cancel the event from your side.

On desktop

Open Google Calendar and then sign in with your Google account. Click on the invite and then select Delete.


On app

  • Open Google Calendar and head to the invite. Now, tap on the invitee list at the bottom.
  • Now, tap on the three-dot button at the top right corner.
  • Next, select Delete from the drop-down menu.

On Gmail

You can also cancel an event invite on Google Calendar via Gmail. Here’s how to do this:

  • Open Gmail and then tap on the event invite that you received.
  • Next, tap on No if you’re sure of not going and Maybe.

How to send a notification about cancelled events on Google Calendar?

As an organiser, you should notify people if the event is cancelled. This should be done beforehand to avoid further hassles.

Here’s how to notify invitees regarding a cancelled event:

Step 1: Open Google Calendar and then click on the invite.

Step 3: Add the sender’s name or email and then type the message detailing why the event was cancelled. When you’re done, press Send.
