While the PS4 is an excellent gaming console, its social aspect makes the entire experience complete. While you can play games and stream music or movies, you can also interact with your friends on the Playstation Network to take your experience to the next level.
There are numerous features built into the console’s interface to facilitate this. The Dualshock 4 controller also doubles up somewhat as a keyboard and mouse to allow users to type, copy and paste their text into text boxes.
While a controller is not the best way to type, more often than not, it’s the only option most console owners have. However, if you want, you can plug in a keyboard and mouse to type more easily and make your social experience on the console a bit more smooth.
In this article, we’re talking about how you can copy and paste text using the Dualshock 4 controller and the on-screen keyboard in the PS4.

The process isn’t difficult at all, just a bit twisty. Follow the steps mentioned below to copy and paste text on PS4.
Step 1: Open up a text box and type whatever you want to copy.
Step 2: Once you’re done typing, click the three dots under the spacebar.
You’ll see an option to either Select All or Select. Choose an option depending on what text you want to copy from the typed text.
Step 3: Once you’ve selected the text, press the ‘X’ button on your Dualshock 4 controller to bring up the context menu. Select Copy from here.
At this point, your text has been copied to the clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you want.
Step 4: To paste the text, head over to any text field and tap the three dots button under the spacebar again. You’ll see the Paste option show up in the context menu.
Step 5: Select the Paste option and your typed text will be pasted in the text bar.
