Founded in 2000 to cater to the burgeoning US-India travel market, MakeMyTrip (MMT) launched in India in 2005 with headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana. The company’s subsidiaries include Goibibo and Redbus, which deal in the travel ecosystem as well.
However, the travel market has been expanding with the growth of the internet, and new businesses have popped up that compete with the likes of MakeMyTrip and try to lure away customers with better deals and offers. If you’ve found a better alternative and want to reduce the clutter, it makes sense to remove your MMT account and delete its data too.
If you’re looking for a way to delete your MakeMyTrip account, you may be here because you couldn’t find it within in your profile settings on the website or the mobile app. Like several other companies in today’s data-driven world, MakeMyTrip also makes it hard for consumers to delete their account and data from the platform.

How to delete your MMT account?
Although the option isn’t available directly through your MakeMyTrip account, it’s quite elementary in the context of the internet.
All you need to do is send an email to [email protected] asking them to delete your MakeMyTrip account. Yes, really! It’s that simple.
Once you receive a reply from them, you’ll have seven days to reply to their email with a valid ID proof and confirmation to delete the account. If you don’t send the confirmation, your account won’t be deleted, and the request will be abandoned.
Below we’ve mentioned a sample of the email that we sent which helped us delete our MakeMyTrip account.
Subject: Delete Make My Trip account
I would like to delete my MMT account. Your chat bot asked for an email to be sent to this email address regarding the same. Let me know how to proceed.
According to MMT’s chatbot, Myra, once you send the request to the email address mentioned above, their team will contact you within 24 hours. However, that wasn’t the case with us. Blame it on the timing because we sent the request a few days before New Year’s eve, it took nearly ten days for the MMT support team to get back to us.
Anyways, before you go ahead and shoot the mail, you should know that once you delete your MakeMyTrip account, you won’t be able to use the same email ID to make another account on the platform in the future.
More importantly, the company will be storing your “historical transactional data” for legal purposes until they’re required to do so according to the law. Thus, any historical transactional data related to your MMT account will not be deleted with your account.
